More digipak changes

I originally decided to change the image to the image below. However because this image is in black and white I feel that it doesn't match the other images of the album colour as they should all carry a continuing colour therefore I have changed this image to black and white as well. 

This picture in black and white however takes away from the naturalistic image that I am trying to portray of my artist. 

I don't like this image in black and white and also it doesn't fit with the rest of the album pictures, therefore I have decided to use the original of this picture and the image below as the album front cover. 

I chose this image because I think that it looks very natural and portrays the image that we want to give about our artist. It is a friendly picture and the effect on it adds to the vintage natural style of the artist. 

Digipak changes

I'm not happy with the front cover of my didgipak as I think it's quite boring. My original idea was not have have an image of the artist of the front as I wanted her to be recognised by her style as much as her face. However being such a small artist I'm not sure if this is such a god idea. Therefore I took some new pictures to make new front covers to the album. These are a few that I have made to chose from for the front cover. 

DigiPak

Digipak - Vinyl

Adele 21 was released in January of this year, but recently  an LP vinyl version of the album has been released. I think this is quite exciting because with the ever growing media world it is nice to be reminded of how things used to be. Vintage is very in fashion these days and people are digging out their record players. I think it is the perfect time for artists to bring out a vinyl along side the cd. 

Adeles vinyl isn't the ordinary vinyl however, it meets modern times and comes bundled with a mp3 download. This is the first of its kind. 

Therefore, to keep up with the changing times I thought it would be nice to have a vinyl for our song instead of or as well as a cd. Because our video fits the indie folk pop genre I think a vinyl would be appealing to the audience as I feel that our audience are those who are likely to have a record player or enjoy the idea of a vinyl. Its unique and feels special. 

The vinyl still includes; an image of the star, the album name, the artist name, a track list and production info.

Here are a few images that were taken on the day of filming that I am considering, after my research to use in the didpak.

Digipak analysis

From researching existing digipaks, I have seen some aspects which are similar in each one. For example there seems to be a reoccurring theme, colour or image. In Kanye West's album there is a reoccurring image of a heart (which is related to the name of the album) and a colour theme which is used throughout. There is also an image of the artist so that the album is regocnisable on the shelf in a shop. The digipak also consists of the lyrics sheet. On the back of the album is where the information such as track list, production company and barcode can be found. None of the sides are plain, they are all colours or images. From this research I have a few ideas for my digipak. The reoccurring image/ theme would be a paper boat which is used in part of the video, the image of the artist would be one of her face so it is recognised by the audience and the inside and back cover would be location shots.

These digipaks for the albums of; Lissie, Lucy Rose and Colbie Callat, which are more similar to the genre of music that we have chosen, show the same characteristics as Kanye West's album. For example the track list, image of artist, production company etc. However there seems to be more images of the artist in these paks. I also really like Lucy Roses' CD design because it fits her style and is a bit different from the others that are often a colour with the artists name or an image of the artist. This is something I will consider when designing my own digipak.
