Emeli Sande - Heaven

Adele - Someone Like You

These two videos show similar characteristics. For example both videos show the main artist in a simple location and with simple colours and little narrative.
Neither videos contain voyeurism which Goodwin says is important for selling an artist, however this video sells the artist and is still visually captivating without objectifying women which makes Jake Nava a commendable director.
Both videos have the artist singing all the way through so the main focus is on them. This is apparent in other Jake Nava videos such as Britney Spears “If U Seek Amy” and Pink “Nobody Knows”.
The camera work is quite fluid and is hand held making it feel realistic making the audience feel close to the artist. There are a lot of close ups in the video in order to sell the artist and again to make the audience feel close to them.
The pace of the editing is quite slow making it feel quite intense and emotional.

Kanye West "Monster" again is quite intense and along with a lot of the videos does not include special effects.
The visuals of his videos match the lyrics for example in 'Shake You Off' and 'Milkshake'.
